Wenn du mich Siehst dann weine. ( When you see me, Cry.)
2018-2019
Material/Technique: Found Rocks, Hot blow molded, blown, sand cast and solid sculpted Glass, dichroic coating, slip casting clay, single channel and three-channel video
The project is based on the “Hungersteine” (hunger stones) found in my home towns riverbed. These large boulders only emerge from the river in drought conditions. Whenever they become visible the date is inscribed into the rock, dating back to the 15th century. These drought markers exist throughout Europe and have become visible more frequently in recent years.
The boulder closest to my home town carries another inscription saying “ Wenn du mich siehst dann weine” ( when you see me cry).
The floor-based video found object-and glass installation investigates the textures and associations of water and drought.
