„Moving On is Hard Sale“ is the title of a Craigslist ad posted by a woman in New York who is looking to sell the furniture recreated in this installation. She was separating from her husband after 25 years.
In the ad she described her relationship and memories to each of the items. I set about to recreate them all, after connecting with how she felt through reading her ad.
The pandemic was an intense time at home- for some lonely, for some strengthening their relationships, for some the end to their relationship, but also for many being left behind through the loss of a loved one.
