Description:
Cracks are hair-fine lines that map the event of a sudden impact. The prints are an attempt to create images from these cracks in a direct and untranslated copying from one medium to another. The images reverse the positive to negative relationship of crack to material by filling the voids with color and erasing what was solid before. Paper presses into the voids filling them up and turning loss into gain. They are careful traces of a violent notion, faint images of subtle movements. They speak of a soft but brutal relationship between image and action.
