From Eye to Ear
2011.
Materials/Technique: Natural body fat & body lotion, fired onto sheet glass, Metal holders, Electronic components, Fluorescent light
Description:
From Eye to ear is a reaction to the video piece "From a Distance". Analyzing the minimized physicality through a screen I felt reduced to a portrait, between seeing and hearing- From my Eyes to my Ears. The fragmentation experienced through the screens interface is rendered onto the glass. Pressing my face onto the flat sheets only parts of my portrait can be captured, requiring multiple sheets to complete a full portrait. When heated the imprints of body grease on the clear surface is burned permanently into the surface.
