Breaking creates a negative space, a division in the material. The process of cracking manufactures a family of new options, all related to each other. Each fragment becomes an independent shape with its own characteristics, and re-assembly produces the possibility of an indefinable number of arrangements - a visual multiplication of what was previously a single sheet.
Highlighting the outlines of shards draws attention to the shapes of the cracks.“Juncture“ layers fragments in new configurations to make suggestive,
un-defined drawings from these outlines. They describe a new whole from the components of the old and visualize one possible option of the rearrangement of a given situation.
